There will be lots of sections on individual formats, with tips on what the dangers connected with them are (lack of support, unpublished spec, patents, etc.) and how best to use them for preservation purposes (sometimes the answer is “don’t”). The Library of Congress has lots of information in this area, and I’m using it in my research, but I have one advantage in Files that Last: I can be as frank as I want. The LoC has to be a bit circumspect.
